Why Should You Keep Follow-Up Appointments After a Minor Injury in Lebanon, TN?

It is crucial to continue care after being injured in a car accident for many reasons. In the first place, delaying or skipping treatment can allow a treatable injury to become a chronic problem.

Whiplash, for example, can develop into long-term neck stiffness or headaches if left unaddressed, and joint or ligament strains can worsen with continued activity before they’re properly diagnosed.

In the second place, continued and consistent treatment of injuries protects your rights. This is because it creates a documented medical record that links any lingering symptoms back to what caused them.

Insurance adjusters lean heavily on these records when they decide how much a claim is worth. If you skip appointments, it can make it look like an injury resolved on its own and consequently give an insurer room to reduce or deny compensation later.

As said before, insurers frequently comb through gaps in treatment to argue an injury wasn’t significant. To address these issues, many people benefit from the guidance of a car accident lawyer to help organize medical records into a clear timeline that shows how the injury progressed and was addressed.

If you’re unsure whether your treatment plan is enough to support a future claim, our team at Gritton & Gritton can help you sort that out. We can review the details of your case and help you better understand your options.
