Rutherford Co, TN – Two Injured After SUV Overturns on Old Fort Pkwy

Rutherford County, TN (December 11, 2025) – On Tuesday, December 9, shortly after 11:00 a.m., a two-vehicle crash with injuries and traffic disruption was reported along Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro, in front of Kohl’s Department Store. A Ford F-150 pickup collided with a Chevrolet SUV, leaving the SUV overturned on its side.

The Murfreesboro Police quickly arrived on the scene, directing traffic and beginning an investigation into the cause of the accident. Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue crews safely extricated two individuals trapped inside the SUV. Both sustained injuries and were transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services to Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Traffic delays occurred while responders cleared the vehicles, but lanes were reopened once the area was secured. Authorities have not released further details, noting that the investigation is ongoing.

We hope those injured make a full recovery.

Compensation After Vehicle Accidents in Rutherford County

Even accidents that result in minor injuries can have significant financial and emotional consequences. Victims may face unexpected medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation costs, lost wages from time away from work, and stress caused by the disruption to daily life. In Tennessee, if a car accident is caused by another party’s negligence, injured individuals may be entitled to seek compensation to help cover these losses and support their recovery.

Medical expenses are often the most immediate concern. This can include emergency room care, hospital stays, diagnostic tests, surgeries, medications, and physical therapy. In some cases, victims may also need long-term treatment, follow-up appointments, or specialized care, such as mobility aids or home modifications, depending on the severity of their injuries. Prompt and thorough documentation of these costs is crucial when filing a personal injury claim, as it provides evidence of the financial impact of the accident.

In addition to medical costs, victims may pursue compensation for lost income. If injuries prevent someone from returning to work temporarily, or if they reduce the individual’s ability to earn at the same level in the future, these losses may be recoverable. This includes not only wages but also potential bonuses, overtime, or other employment benefits that were affected by the accident.

Emotional and psychological effects are also important to consider. Even seemingly minor collisions can cause anxiety, post-traumatic stress, fear of driving, or other mental health challenges. These impacts can affect everyday life, including sleep, concentration, and overall well-being. Personal injury claims can include damages for these non-physical effects, helping victims access counseling or therapy services to aid in recovery.

Property damage is another factor in many claims. Vehicle repairs or replacement costs, as well as additional expenses caused by the accident, such as transportation, childcare, or temporary housing, may also be included in compensation.

Working with a skillful auto accident lawyer can help accident victims navigate the claims process, communicate with insurance companies, and pursue full compensation under Tennessee law. A lawyer can ensure that all medical records, bills, and documentation of lost wages or pain and suffering are properly collected to support a claim.
