Murfreesboro, TN (December 23, 2025) – On Sunday, December 21, a serious fatal crash was reported at the Old Fort Parkway and Interstate 24 overpass.
According to Murfreesboro police, a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Deborah Hensel rear-ended a 2026 Ford F-350 that was stopped at a traffic light while waiting to merge onto I-24. Unfortunately, Hensel was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-350, a 27-year-old man, was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment and later released.
The Old Fort Parkway overpass and all I-24 ramps in the area were temporarily closed as police conducted their investigation. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
