Legal Rights After a Fail-to-Yield Accident in Murfreesboro, TN

When a driver fails to yield and strikes a motorcyclist in Tennessee, the injured rider has the right to pursue a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver. A failure to yield is a traffic violation under Tennessee law, and when that violation directly causes a crash, it can serve as strong evidence of negligence in a claim.
An injured rider can be eligible to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. If the motorcyclist has severe injuries that are enough to prevent them from acting independently, their family can start the process of the claim in their name. In cases involving a medical airlift, emergency surgery, and extended rehabilitation, those costs can accumulate rapidly.
Severe injuries can require multiple surgeries, extended physical therapy, and in some cases result in permanent limitations. Tennessee follows a modified comparative fault rule, which means that a person can still recover compensation as long as they are found to be less than 50 percent at fault for the crash.
A Murfreesboro motorcycle accident attorney can evaluate how state standards apply to the specific facts of a case, assess the full value of a claim, and handle communications with the insurance company so the injured person can focus on recovery.
