Our thoughts are with those involved as the situation is evaluated.

Highway crashes often occur at higher speeds, which can increase the risk of injury even when vehicle damage appears limited. Occupants involved in interstate collisions may experience injuries ranging from mild soreness to more serious conditions that require medical attention. Some symptoms may not be immediately noticeable at the scene.
Common injuries after highway crashes include neck and back strain, whiplash, soft-tissue injuries, and joint pain. Head injuries such as concussions can also occur due to the sudden force of impact, even if airbags deploy and seatbelts are in use. These injuries may worsen over time, making medical evaluation important after any collision.
In some cases, individuals may choose to leave the immediate scene and seek help at a nearby location, such as a welcome center or medical facility. This does not necessarily mean injuries are minor, as adrenaline can mask pain in the hours following a crash. Follow-up care and monitoring of symptoms are often recommended.
Medical documentation plays an important role after a crash. Records of evaluations, diagnostic tests, and treatment help ensure injuries are properly addressed and provide clarity if insurance claims are later required. Keeping track of medical visits and any time missed from work can be helpful during recovery.
Highway crashes can also be stressful and disruptive, especially when they involve unexpected delays or uncertainty about injuries. Taking time to prioritize health, rest, and medical guidance is an important step toward recovery.
